Mehun-sur-Yèvre

Created in 1972

The Lynxeo plant in Mehun-sur-Yèvre, in the Cher department of France, is one of France's key industrial sites. Originally founded under the name GORSE, it evolved over the decades before becoming part of the Nexans Group. Today, it operates under the Lynxeo brand and remains a major player in the production of electrical cables.

The plant is a major production site for the nuclear sector, supplying essential cables for the most demanding energy infrastructures, both in France and internationally.

At the same time, it plays a key role in major rail infrastructure projects, with cables equipping strategic networks such as the Paris metro and French high-speed lines.

Lynxeo is also a recognized partner in the naval sector. Recently, a major naval group renewed a multi-year cable supply contract with Lynxeo, reinforcing the plant's strategic position in this demanding field.

A key role in preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games

In July 2023, Jean Castex, French Prime Minister and Chairman of the RATP Board of Directors, saluted the outstanding work of the teams at the Mehun-sur-Yèvre plant. Their contribution was decisive in the supply of the electrical cables required for the extension of line 14 of the Paris metro, a project of strategic importance.

This extension, which aims to significantly improve mobility in the capital, is a key project in the run-up to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It will serve new neighborhoods and facilitate access to Olympic venues, thus contributing to the smooth and efficient organization of the event.

The quality, reliability and technical sophistication of the cables supplied by Lynxeo Mehun were essential in meeting the stringent safety and durability requirements.
